Acupressure, breathing techniques etc. for Headache relief?

Tuesday, September 22nd, 2009

What can I do to get rid of a sinus headache? I’ve taken tylenol and nothing works.

There is no medicine for H/A OR MIGRAINE. Not only these but for almost all painful diseases. Hence they become chronic.
Acidity, WORRY, excessive wind, cold , heat, sour food and sinusitis, constipation, intestinal inflammation;
Blockage in the flow of Vital Energy are their causes. None of them can be treated with medicine. Our 100% success in treating migraine &H/A confirms it.
Acupuncture is the best treatment. I can treat it with naturopathy and YOG, but how can you manage pl see.

Avoid late sleeping if possible;spicy, sour, stale bakery foods and alcohole.
Sweet foods, COCOANUT WATER,sweet fruits, milk, rice, SPROUTS, SALADS and good sleep will help you if cough is not there.
If cough, treat it with warm water to drink, boiled/roasted /steamed pulses, vegitables and salads. Avoid all fats, fruits, sweets, milk and its’ products, cold drinks.
But you try one herbal remedy- two drops of drumstick leaves’ juice in opposite nostril if one side pains and both nostrils if full H/A will give you rescue. Betel leaf helps but it isvery strong.
If it is acute pl search a painful point 3-6 mm behind your thumb nail and press it, H/A will disappear within 30 seconds.

What can I do to heal a Sinus Headache without taking antibiotics?

Sunday, September 20th, 2009

I am not fond of taking any antibiotics as I feel that the natural approach to healing is always much better…..I have had a sinus headache for about 24 hours. I have had some major relief from breathing in steam, but is there anything I can take naturally to further help the healing process? Thanks in advance for your answers.

Take an over the counter decongestant. I like Sudafed (little, red pills) they help sooo much. Also try using a neti pot to rinse your sinuses. (I just use a cup) but basically you mix salt into warm water and inhale it into your nostrils and then let it run out. I do it in the shower. This helps if you have mucus but if your sinuses are just swollen then get a decongestant.

Antibiotics only help if you have a sinus infection…which occurs most frequently about 2 weeks after the start of a cold.

nasal irrigation for sinus blockage and headache?

Thursday, September 17th, 2009

does anyone know how to do nasal irrigation for sinus headache relief? ive heard that salt water is effective but how do you apply it. use a syringe? and how much sat to water ratio? how often can you do it? anti biotics are useless.

nasal irrigation is one of the best things to do for sinus pain and stuffiness. It is non-addictive, no drugs are involved, and it helps flush germs and dust out of your passages, and may even help prevent getting a cold. Just mix up some salt and clean water, not sure what are the quantities. Use one of those baby nose sucker upper things and squirt the salt water gently up your nasal passages a few times a day. I’ve notice instant results sometimes, other times it takes a day for me. You can do it several times a day if you need to, just be careful not to do it hard.

sinus headache?

Wednesday, September 16th, 2009

i’ve had a terrible sinus headahce since sunday. it hurts right behind my eye, ear, and jaw, all on the right side of my head. it almost feels like a terrible toothache but it’s too deep to have much to do with my teeth, but i’ve still been using orajel and that seems to offer temporary relief. is it normal to have a headache last so long? and is it normal when it hurts in your jaw?
so no need for a dentist right?
and any over the counter medicines i could get for this terrible migraine?
it is the first time i’ve had a sinus headache. let alone, one this harsh. it’s been receding since sunday, it’s only short bursts of pain that shoot through my jar up to my eye. i really think it’s a migraine, actually.

In 90% of cases, what people think are sinus headaches are actually Migraine attacks. Migraines can include pain in the face, sinus area, and teeth because the trigeminal nerve becomes inflamed during a Migraine, and it’s branches run across the forehead, along the sinus cavities, and along the jaw. Unless there’s infection present, a true sinus headache is rare. At this point, I’d suggest you call your doctor. Good luck!

I’d look into a Nettie pot. It is designed to insert into the nostril so you can flush out the sinuses with saline solution. They cost $14.99 at Walgreens and there is a coupon online, type in nettiepot. Been used for thousands of years before they had anitbiotics. The saline will soften the wad of goo creating the sinus blockage and flush it out. It’s easy to learn and a one time expense. Haven’t you ever been so blocked up you wish you had some dynamite? Nettiepot is the solution, and you can do it anytime, no need to wait between doses, no expensive antibiotics or trips to the pharmacy, no gut problems the antibiotics cause, and it’s completely natural! It will also prevent allergies if used regularly.

Possible sinus headache? Need relief.

Thursday, September 10th, 2009

Over the past 5 days I have had trouble sleeping because of anxiety/panic attacks over this weird head pressure. Like my head is a bubble. The bridge of my nose is tender (pressure) and my forehead. Also my cheek bones. I have a history of bad summer allergies, but this summer I haven’t had them… at all. Not even a runny nose since spring. My head just has so much pressure, sometimes I get paresthesia (numbing in arms, face and throat) which is worsened by my anxiety

What are some relief ideas I could do before having to go to the doctor (which I really don’t want to do)? Is this sinusitus? It’s really gotten to the point where its debilitating. It also worsens when I excercise. Help!

Sounds like a sinus infection to me and you should see a doctor. You can take over the counter sinus medicine like Tylenol Sinus and see if that is any help, but you should see a doctor.

POLL: What is the best way to get relief from a Sinus Headache…?

Sunday, September 6th, 2009

I would have asked this in the health section, but i looked and no one is answering there! ;( I am taking antibiotics but i need relief for the throbbing and discomfort.

As your antibiotic kicks in, it will eliminate some of the pressure. But in the meantime, take a decongestant like Sudaffed and also Tylenol or Advil. The decongestant will relieve the pressure you feel. Also, try a cool cloth or ice bag on your forehead. Try to keep your sinuses clear as best you can whether you inhale steam in a bowl or a hot shower. I also find that Vick’s cream also helps by rubbing it on your neck and above your lip under the nose. One other thing you could do is use a cool mist humidfier. Hope you feel better soon.
